Poolo terms.
These Terms govern Poolo's U.S. public beta. Live payments are enabled and every charge is shown before authorization.
1. Who may use Poolo
You must be at least 18, live in the United States, provide accurate information, and have authority to use the payment method you provide. Poolo may refuse, suspend, or close accounts used for fraud, abuse, unauthorized transfers, or violations of a subscription provider's rules.
2. What Poolo does
Poolo helps an organizer divide an eligible shared subscription bill, invite members, collect each approved share through Stripe, deduct disclosed processing and Poolo fees, and route the plan share to the organizer's connected payment account. Poolo is not a bank, stored-value account, escrow service, subscription reseller, or general person-to-person money-transfer service. Poolo does not hold a balance for members.
3. Provider rules still apply
Poolo is independent from every subscription provider shown. Organizers and members are responsible for satisfying the provider's current eligibility, household, country, family-group, and account rules. Poolo access does not guarantee access to the underlying subscription, and matching an address on paper does not make an ineligible person eligible.
4. Pools and marketplace requests
Organizers set the service, plan total, capacity, renewal date, and invite. Members request a spot and must be approved before checkout. Public listings are reviewed before publication and are limited to services Poolo reasonably believes allow the proposed sharing arrangement. A receipt check confirms that Poolo received evidence matching the named provider and expected billing period; it is not a provider guarantee and does not prove uninterrupted future access. Poolo may request additional proof or remove or decline any pool or listing.
5. Charges and recurring authorization
Before checkout, Poolo displays the plan share, estimated Stripe cost reserve, Poolo fee, total, billing interval, and cancellation method. The reserve estimates ordinary card processing, recurring Billing, and allocated Connect payout costs; actual provider costs can vary. A recurring charge is permitted only after the member checks the recurring-authorization box and completes Stripe Checkout. That authorization allows Poolo and Stripe to save the payment method and charge the displayed recurring amount for that pool until the member leaves, the organizer cancels, or the authorization otherwise ends. A material price or interval change requires new authorization.
6. Failed or incomplete collection
A failed member payment does not make another member responsible for the shortfall. Poolo marks the failure, notifies the relevant people, and may ask the member to update the payment method. Unless the pool page expressly says otherwise, Poolo does not advance missing funds and the organizer remains responsible for paying the subscription provider. Poolo may pause collection when a pool is underfunded, disputed, cancelled, or no longer eligible.
7. Leaving and cancellation
A member may leave from the pool page and an organizer may cancel the pool. This stops future Poolo authorizations after the request is processed but does not automatically reverse a charge already submitted. Leaving Poolo does not cancel the underlying subscription with its provider. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
8. Refunds, disputes, and chargebacks
Refunds are handled under Poolo's Refund and Cancellation Policy. If you do not recognize a charge, contact Poolo promptly through Support. Filing a bank dispute does not prevent Poolo from providing accurate transaction and authorization records to Stripe or the card network. Poolo may pause the related pool while a refund or dispute is reviewed.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use Poolo for unrelated transfers, cash advances, deceptive listings, stolen payment methods, password sharing, fake addresses, evasion of provider controls, sanctions violations, unlawful goods or services, harassment, or collection of another person's sensitive information.
10. Beta availability and changes
The beta may contain errors, change, or be unavailable. Prices and provider rules can change. Poolo may modify features or these Terms; material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, when legally required, additional notice or consent.
11. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Poolo is provided “as is” without warranties that every pool will fill, every payment will succeed, or any provider will continue access. Poolo is not responsible for a provider's service, an organizer's payment of the provider, or losses caused by inaccurate user information. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
12. Contact
Questions, legal notices, privacy requests, and payment issues can be submitted through Poolo Support or emailed to support@poolo.me. These Terms are an operational public-beta draft and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before live payments or a broader commercial launch.
